Hostinger Review: Is It the Best Web Hosting Provider for 2023?

Picking the best hosting provider is very crucial for the success of your website. But there are so many hosting providers to choose from that it is often confusing, especially for beginners.

Price is usually the main factor for beginner website owners. And it should not compromise on the quality of the service. This is where the Hostinger comes in.

Hostinger’s high-quality service at unbelievably affordable pricing makes it a worthy hosting provider to consider.

In this Hostinger Review, we will look at various essential features of web hosting like speed, server uptime, price, and customer service.

Hostinger came into popularity because of its very competitive pricing. It is one of the cheapest web hosts on the internet. Hostinger has been one of the most popular hosting providers. It has more than 29M+ users worldwide. Hostinger has 7 data centers worldwide to choose from.

Some of the things that Hostinger claims to provide are

  • Fast website loading speed
  • 1-click WordPress installation
  • 24/7 Customer Service
  • 99.9% Uptime
  • 30-day money-back guarantee

In this Hostinger review, we will be testing all of these claims from Hostinger. Read the Detailed Hostinger Review to see how this hosting provider performed in various aspects of web hosting. Below is the summary of the review.

Hostinger Review Summary

  • Fast Hosting
  • Decent Uptime
  • Simple Control Panel Interface
  • Affordable Pricing
  • Very Budget-Friendly

  • Slow Customer Support
  • Lack Of Phone Support
  • The base plan isn’t worth it

Bottom Line: In my Hostinger review, I found Hostinger to be an excellent web host with exceptional features at an affordable price. The customer support staff is also very knowledgeable, but the replies are slow. Other than that, Hostinger is the best all-round hosting provider.

Detailed Hostinger Review

Hostinger is the best budget-friendly hosting provider in the market right now. It provides immense value for the money you pay. I have done a detailed Hostinger review so that it helps you decide whether Hostinger is the right fit for you or not.

Fast Hosting

If a website takes more than 3 seconds to load, 40% of people abandon it. This is how much impatient people are nowadays. People want things fast. Therefore, website speed plays a vital role in acquiring visitors and the user’s experience with the site.

Google has included website loading speed as one of the critical factors for SEO.

Surprisingly, Hostinger is extremely fast when it comes to speed.

Hostinger has deployed servers in seven regions- the UK, US, Brazil, Netherlands, Singapore, Indonesia, and Lithuania. They have a connection speed of 1000Mbps which is good enough.

I have my servers in Singapore.

Enough of the details now, and let’s go to the testing results. So how fast is Hostinger?

For this Hostinger Review, I will be using GtMetrix to see how well the website does.

This website is hosted on Hostinger itself. So I will be using this website for testing. I am using the Divi theme and the free Nitropack caching plugin on my website.

I have a Singapore server, and my testing is done from Mumbai, India.

Below is the GTMetrix score:

Hostinger Speed Review

The website loaded in 1.5s. The website should load in less than 3 seconds. So considering this metric, Hostinger is pretty fast.

Hostinger Load Test Review

Load Testing is a process of testing how the website performs when put in live conditions. This test shows us how the website and the server handle traffic or sudden traffic surges.

For this Hostinger Review, we will use k6 (formerly known as Load Impact). K6 is a simulator that lets you check the performance of a website or web app.

I have sent 50 virtual users to my website for this test to see how it handles the traffic.

Below are the results of the testing.

hostinger load test review mumbai

Around 13K requests were made at an average request rate of 40 requests/second. And the average response time was 138ms.

There weren’t any HTTP Failures as well. This testing was done with Mumbai, India location.

I did some more testing with 15 more locations worldwide, and the average response time was 335ms. We recorded the lowest response time in Singapore with 88ms, and the highest was Frankfurt with 593ms.

Keep in mind my servers are in Singapore (Asia). Therefore all the Asian countries performed very well. On average, the response time for Asian countries was 163ms.

Hostinger’s Shared Hosting performed great in load test review as well. Around 13K requests were made, but there weren’t any HTTP failures.

For web hosting, uptime is the percentage of time your website is available online. This ensures your website is up and running smoothly. Uptime is one of the most important aspects of web hosting services. Offline servers will cause visitors to leave the site and maybe never return.

Uptime is also a very crucial part of Google’s SEO. Google notices whether your website stays up consistently. Google won’t recommend offline websites for an extended period.

And this is why having a good web hosting provider is crucial, guaranteeing maximum uptime.

Hostinger has a decent uptime. Hostinger shows you the data of the uptime of their server. The uptime guarantee of Hostinger is 99.9%. Keep in mind; it’s 99.9%, not 99.99%.

So if you have a large website with a lot of traffic, I’d say look somewhere else. Because 99.9% is low for high-traffic websites, it should be 99.99%.

People with high traffic must-have websites up and running as much as possible. So 99.9% is low by that standard.

But if you are a beginner and do not have a lot of traffic, you can consider Hostinger. I am using Hostinger myself.

Hostinger keeps the promise of 99.9% uptime. The uptime isn’t consistent every month, but it is 99.9% on average.

Some months go as low as 99.44%, but others go as high as 99.99% and even 100%. Most of the time, Hostinger’s uptime remains above 99.9%. Therefore, on average, Hostinger’s uptime can be equated to 99.9%.

In the screenshot below, in the last 90 days, Hostinger’s uptime has been 99.93%. And in the last 30 days also it was 99.93%.

Simple HPanel Interface (Hostinger Control Panel)

Control Panel is a tool used to manage servers and websites on the servers. Hosting companies provide their users with a control panel to manage their websites effectively.

Using control panels, you can do all sorts of things like installing applications, uploading files on websites, managing DNS, managing email accounts, nameservers, etc.

Hostinger has a simple and user-friendly control panel interface. Hostinger’s control panel is known as hPanel.

hostinger hpanel

Hostinger doesn’t provide cPanel, which is usually the standard control panel in the hosting companies. Hosting companies like Bluehost, Namecheap, etc., provide the cPanel.

Hostinger, on the other hand, has its hPanel, which is easy to use for beginners. The big icons on the hPanel make it easy to use and navigate properly. You can easily install WordPress on Hostinger using Hostinger’s Auto-Installer.

I started directly in Hostinger, and I loved the interface. The icons are big and easy to navigate. As a beginner, you get everything you need with this interface.

I personally like Hostinger. I don’t need to do so many technical things, so it is easy for me to use. So hPanel also does the job for me.

Slow Customer Service Support

Hostinger has 24/7 Customer service. They have a chat and email system. The reply isn’t as fast as it used to be. Now it takes almost 30 minutes for them to reply. I have purchased a Business Shared Hosting plan, but still, I don’t get quick replies or any priority support (which I was expecting). I still have to wait for their reply.

Hostinger doesn’t have any phone support. They only have a live chat and email support system.

However, sometimes even live chat is not available, which is frustrating. But most of the time, you can access the live chat. The unavailability of live chat is a rare thing.

The support staff is very friendly and helpful. They provide you with various appropriate links that are helpful to you. Support is informative and provides you with various screenshots for your solutions.

The only drawback is the unavailability of the phone system. If this is very important to you, then look somewhere else.

Personally, I am OK with their live chat system. The problem gets solved even if I get a reply after 30 minutes. I post a question and do my other work, and I get an email whenever they reply, so I am entirely OK with this. I don’t think there are many urgent things to do at the beginning stage, so Hostinger support is still satisfactory.

And frankly, it isn’t a big problem, especially if you are at the beginning stage.

If you are a beginner, you will have basic queries regarding WordPress, SSL, etc. For this, Hostinger has blogs and tutorials on several topics. These tutorials are well covered and consist of screenshots for better understanding.

Hostinger’s tutorial blogs are one of the best. You should check them out.

In my Hostinger review, the customer support service was slow but very knowledgeable. But if you want quick replies from customer service, then Hostinger isn’t for you.

Money-Back Guarantee

If you aren’t happy with the service of Hostinger, you can ask for a refund. Keep in mind that Hostinger has a 30-day money-back guarantee. So you have 30 days to try out the service, and if you don’t like it, you can ask for a refund.

However, there are a few things that aren’t available for refunds. The following products don’t come under their refund policy:

  • Redemption Fees
  • Domain Name Renewals
  • Privacy Protection
  • SEO Toolkit
  • Google Workspace Email

New Domain Name Registrations are also refundable if cancelled within 96 hours, i.e. four days. Refunds are only available for the domain names if the transfer process has not begun within 4 days.

But if you are starting, you can choose Premium Shared Hosting at least. Premium Hosting plan pricing is the same for 12 and 48-month periods. Premium Shared Hosting will be my second-best option.

Single Shared Hosting isn’t worth purchasing. This is the most basic plan of Hostinger’s and doesn’t include anything. It doesn’t include a Free Domain, has less storage, Doesn’t have enough bandwidth, and just 1 Email Account. And it is not even the cheapest option.

If you look at the annual plans of Single Shared Hosting, it costs $2.99/month more than Premium Shared Hosting, which costs $2.59/month.

Therefore, go for either Premium or Business Shared Hosting only.

It offers fast speed. The server response time is excellent. In my Hostinger review, the load test shows that it can also handle traffic very well.

The customer support is good and very knowledgeable. But the slow response from the support is a little annoying. And then there is also no phone support. But the staff is very friendly and will provide solutions for your problems and also you can look at the articles written by Hostinger to help you.
